The Westside Community Council set a goal in November 2007 to provide a $10,000 scholarship endowment for Ventura Community College.  This endowment would be financially matched by the Ventura College Foundation and held in an investment fund with no administrative fees so all proceeds will go to Westside students.  On June 4 2008, this dream was realized.  Pete Marriott, representing the Westside Community Council, Westside business owners and residents presented a check for $10,000 to Norbert Tan, the Executive Director of the Ventura College Foundation.  The $20,000 endowment will begin providing scholarships to Westside students attending Ventura College in the fall 2009 semester.
